Applications

The main purpose of this unit is controlling the amplitude (volume) of a signal while eliminating the clicks and pops that you might hear with very short attack/release times using a standard VCA. It is suitable for any applications where the voltage jump resulting from opening the VCA rapidly on a droning signal may cause undesirable artifacts. For other applications, the builtin Linear Bipolar VCA is more CPU efficient.

Description

As compared to the builtin Linear Bipolar VCA, this unit functions identically with one exception. It will only adjust the level of the incoming signal at a zero crossing point, which can eliminate clicks when modulating volume with a very fast envelope.

This parameter controls the amount by which the incoming signal is multiplied.

This parameter only shows up when the Mixer Channel is inserted into a stereo chain. The pan amount for the left and right channels follows the behavior depicted in the following graph:

In other words, a value of -1 will hard pan to the left, a value of +1 will hard pan to the right, and a value of zero will pan to the center (no attenuation for both channels).
